Finsider in your terminal and AI tools

Use your Finsider account to work with your companies and financial data. Sign in once, then connect Claude Code or Codex through the CLI.

01Install the CLI

Windows · npm

Install Node.js 22 or newer, then paste this in PowerShell or Windows Terminal.

npm.cmd install --global https://github.com/finsider-ai/releases/releases/download/v1.1.0/finsider-cli-1.1.0.tgz

Installs v1.1.0 from the official GitHub release. The npm registry package is not yet published.

Mac · Homebrew

With Homebrew installed, paste this in Terminal. Homebrew installs Node.js for you.

brew install finsider-ai/tap/finsider

The official Finsider tap currently installs v1.1.0.

After installation, run finsider to open the terminal workspace. Run finsider --version to check your installation.

On Windows, use finsider.cmd in place of finsider for the sign-in and setup commands below.

02Connect your coding agent

Requires Finsider CLI 1.1.0 or newer. First run this command and complete sign-in in your browser.

finsider auth login

Codex

finsider mcp config codex

Run this to print your setup command, then copy and run the command it prints once. Start a new Codex session to use Finsider.

Claude Code

finsider mcp config claude

Run this to print your setup command, then copy and run the command it prints once. Open Claude Code and use /mcp to check Finsider.

On Windows, run the generated setup command in PowerShell. Keep the Finsider CLI installed on the computer where you use your AI tool.

Connect ChatGPT or Claude

Availability pending

ChatGPT and Claude web connections require additional setup and compatibility checks. Finsider must first provide OAuth settings for your connector. These connections are not yet available for general use.

ChatGPT

Once Finsider has enabled your connector, turn on Developer mode in Settings → Security and login. Open Plugins, select the plus button, and add Finsider using the URL above and your supplied OAuth settings.

Availability also depends on your account and workspace policy.

Claude web

Once Finsider has enabled your connector, open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector. Enter Finsider, the URL above, and your supplied OAuth settings.

For a team or enterprise workspace, an owner first adds the connector in Organization settings.
